Das Mausoleum wurde von Sanjars Nachfolger Muhammad ibn Aziz erbaut. Merv gilt als die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Stadt der Welt und hatte im Mittelalter \u00fcber eine Million Einwohner.<\/p>\n<p>Anfangs war das Grab des Sultans mit einem Geb\u00e4udekomplex verbunden, zu dem eine Moschee, ein Palast und andere geh\u00f6rten. Bis heute ist jedoch nur das Mausoleum selbst erhalten. Im 20. und 21.Jahrhundert wurde das Mausoleumsgeb\u00e4ude von sowjetischen, turkmenischen und t\u00fcrkischen Architekten restauriert. Jetzt ist es Teil des Staatlichen Geschichts- und Kulturparks &#8220;Ancient Merv&#8221;, der in die Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes aufgenommen wurde.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5532\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5532\" style=\"width: 850px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ayan-turkmenistan.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/100-manat-1024x512.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-5LtNY3Sd\" data-rl_title=\"The mausoleum of Ahmed Sanjar on the 100 manat banknote from Turkmenistan\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5532 size-large\" title=\"The mausoleum of Ahmed Sanjar on the 100 manat banknote from Turkmenistan\" src=\"https:\/\/ayan-turkmenistan.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/100-manat-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"Das Mausoleum von Ahmed Sanjar auf der 100-Manat-Banknote aus Turkmenistan\" width=\"850\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Das Mausoleum von Ahmed Sanjar auf der 100-Manat-Banknote aus Turkmenistan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Die Legende \u00fcber Sultan Sanjar<\/h3>\n<p>Der lokalen Legende nach verliebte sich Sultan Sanjar in eine Peri (Fee), die sich unter drei Bedingungen bereit erkl\u00e4rte, ihn zu heiraten: Er durfte niemals auf ihre F\u00fc\u00dfe schauen, wenn sie ging, sie niemals ansehen, w\u00e4hrend sie sich die Haare k\u00e4mmte, und niemals ihre Taille ber\u00fchren. Sanjar verletzte ihre Bitte und stellte fest, dass sie ging, ohne den Boden zu ber\u00fchren, ihren Kopf entfernte, um ihre Haare zu k\u00e4mmen, und keine Knochen in ihrer Taille hatte. W\u00fctend flog die sch\u00f6ne Peri davon. Sanjar bettelte darum, sie wiederzusehen. Der Peri versprach zu kommen, wenn er ein sch\u00f6nes Geb\u00e4ude mit einem Loch im Dach bauen w\u00fcrde, durch das man hindurchschauen k\u00f6nnte. Nach seinem Tod wurde er dort begraben, damit die Peri bis zum Ende der Zeit hineinschauen und sein Grab sehen konnten.<\/p>\n<h3>Architektur<\/h3>\n<p>Das Mausoleum von Sultan Sanjar hat die Form eines W\u00fcrfels mit einer Kuppel oben, deren H\u00f6he 27 Meter betr\u00e4gt. Die H\u00f6he der W\u00e4nde betr\u00e4gt 14 Meter. Die Breite der gesamten Kuppel betr\u00e4gt 17 mal 17 Meter. Trotz der Restaurierung fehlen dem Mausoleum noch originale Merkmale wie der zweite Stock und die mit T\u00fcrkis bedeckte Au\u00dfenkuppel. Das Grab ist eines der wenigen erhaltenen Beispiele seldschukischer Grabarchitektur in Turkmenistan. Im Allgemeinen k\u00f6nnen wir sagen, dass das Innere dieses Geb\u00e4udes viel wichtiger ist als das \u00c4u\u00dfere.
